A concealed door hidden in a slatted wall

The point of a jib door is that you shouldn't be able to find it. That means the slats have to continue across the door leaf at exactly the spacing of the surrounding wall, the shadow gap around the leaf has to be consistent on all four sides, and there can be no visible handle — so the door is hung on concealed hinges with a push latch.

The panelling turns the corner and runs down two walls, so the setting-out had to work in two directions at once and still land the door in the right place. Behind it, the original hallway and radiator are left untouched — which is the whole idea.
